There are things that go bump in the night - terrible, unknowable monsters parents tell their children to scare them into behaving and adults convince themselves are simply make-believe. You are one of those monsters and you’ve decided to help your fellow hunters to fight back against things just like you. Sometimes you have to fight fire with fire, after all.

The DEFECTOR is a fan playbook for Bump in the Dark: Revised Edition by Jex Thomas. It requires the core game to play.

Inspired primarily by Hellboy, the Defector is a playbook that replaces the game's 'Doom' tracker with a 'Destiny' tracker - a ticking clock that pushes a player towards a narrative breaking point, where they must choose: will they accept or reject their monstrous fate?
